Local Minds Week – Mental Wellbeing Service Coordinator

2 August 2024

A day in the life of our Mental Wellbeing Coordinator…

What service do you work for? Mental Wellbeing Services

What is your role at Derbyshire Mind? Mental Wellbeing Services Coordinator

What does a typical day look like?

No day is the same in my role and I love it. We have a growing Mental Wellbeing service here at Derbyshire mind and I am lucky enough to be part of that.

My day could consist of meeting new / current volunteers and ensuring they have everything they need. Some days I will go out to our Wellbeing groups to support the facilitators and gather feedback from attendees so we can continue improving our services. I am out and about at events and networking groups so I can meet other community groups and also answer any questions that people may have about our services.

Of course, no day would be complete without doing my Admin and making sure I get back to everyone on email and complete my to do lists.

What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing people grow. I see a lot of people attend our wellbeing services and at the beginning they feel quite nervous or anxious attending and then after a few times of coming along you can see them grow in confidence and see the benefits they get from attending the group.

What does it mean to you to work for Derbyshire Mind?

It means a lot working for Derbyshire mind where they have brilliant values, and we share a passion for wanting to improve mental wellbeing for the community.
