6 August 2024
A day in the life of a Recovery Worker at Derbyshire Mind.
What service do you work for?
Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service
What is your role at Derbyshire Mind?
Mental Health Recovery Worker
What does a typical day look like?
Every day is so different! I spend a lot of my days out and about across Erewash, visiting clients, attending groups, meeting the community, and exploring local services in the area which may be useful for the people I am working with.
What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?
Having the flexibility to support people in the way that works for them. A huge part of my job is about empowering people. This role allows me to be creative. I can support and encourage people to make their own decisions about their mental health recovery, and I am privileged to support them on their journey.
What does it mean to you to work for your Local Mind?
The whole team at Derbyshire Mind are so passionate about promoting and improving mental health and wellbeing for everybody in our community – it is great to be a part of it!
