Local Mind’s Week – Mental Health Practitioner
8 August 2024
A day in the life of a Wellbeing Coach at Derbyshire Mind.
What service do you work for?
Supported Self Help
What is your role at Derbyshire Mind?
Lead Mental Health Practitioner (Supported Self Help)
What does a typical day look like?
My role is quite varied! In a typical week, I have a mixture of: Sessions with clients, over the phone, video or in person.
Meetings with the team, networking, visiting other groups and organisations, lots of emails, admin, and spreadsheets!
What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?
When someone I am working with finds a tool or technique that really works for them, to support their own mental health and wellbeing. Hearing their achievements, big or small, is always a highlight of my week.
What does it mean to you to work for your Local Mind?
I still feel fairly new to the team and can’t quite believe I work for Derbyshire Mind!! I love being part of a team that cares so much about supporting individuals with their wellbeing and supporting each other.
