Rookie Runners – “it was so supportive and fun”

Why did you sign-up to Rookie Runners?

I signed up to start building positive habits to get fit but also because I found running very difficult alone I thought this was a great opportunity to run as a group and build my confidence and socialise with the amazing team!

How did you find the Rookie Runners programme?

It was so supportive and fun! It really helped with my mental health, everyone was so warm and welcoming and it was such a positive experience 🙂

What barriers stopped you running before Rookie Runners?

2 big things that stopped me was motivation and staying committed.

But with the help of the group, this was overcome and I found myself wanting to run more!

How do you feel after a run?

I felt great! It was lovely, we can go at our own pace, your needs are met. It gradually builds up as your confidence does to but for me personally the biggest thing that helped was talking to the team… it really helped me but also the group is so amazing, you set off together and before you know it you’re done and it went bye in the blink of an eye because your having so much fun with everyone!
